Ferris Loses to Mead in Opening Round of District Tournament

The Ferris Saxons opened their post season play with a 65-59 loss against the GSL number two seeded Mead Panthers.  The Saxons got off to a blistering start out scoring the Panthers 26-20 in the first quarter, however they would be unable to maintain that pace throughout the game.  Jordan Tonani had his biggest game of the season with 18 points, Jason Bates followed up his huge Rubber Chicken game with 15 pts, and Riley Stockton poured in 12.  It is the second game in row that the Saxons faced a hot shooting team.  The Panthers took advantage of their hot hand by throwing in nine three pointers.

The Saxons still have a pulse and can advance to Regionals with a win over the University Titans, who lost to the #1 seed Gonzaga Prep 69-50.  With identical overall records and the fact that the two teams have split games this season, it's shaping up for a dramatic game.  Winner on to regionals and loser is done for the year.  Be there.
