Game #8
Ferris vs.
Clarkston
The
Saxons beat up on the visiting Clarkston Bantams
41-6 in a game that the Saxons had 422 rushing
yards. Anthony Zackery had a career
night against Clarkston rushing for 251 yards on 10
carries. He also made a case for himself as to
why he might be the fastest guy in the GSL. He
showed some amazing speed and outrun the Bantams
secondary on touchdown runs of 32, 82, 59 and 28
yards.
When
you have that many rushing yards it also means that
your offensive line is controlling the line
of scrimmage. Here are the five guys that opened the
holes for Zackery and Rath: Jonathan Brateng LT,
Ryan Wilson LG, Kyle Krustangel C (not
Krust-nagle!!! will someone please tell the
announcer), Levi Roberg RG and Adam Eucker RG -
way to go guys!!!
QB
Caleb Rath also benefited from the offensive lines
domination. He had 146 yards rushing and TD
runs of 51 and 73 yards.
The
defense played a solid game also. After
allowing the Bantams to march down the field and
score on their first possession, they made some
adjustments and didn't allow them to score again.
Byron Stevens, Eric Cheadle and
Shawn Stockton all did a good job of controlling
the Bantam offense.
