Game #10
Ferris vs.
Lewis and Clark
In
what ended up being the final game of the season for
the Saxons, they beat the LC Tigers 16-6. The
defense had an awesome game holding the Tigers to
209 yards offense and of those, 58 yards came on one
run. A couple of times the Tigers got into the
red zone and couldn't punch it in coming away with
only a couple of field goals. The defense also
forced 5 turnovers (all interceptions) - that makes
12 turnovers in the final two games. Nice job
guys!!
It was
also a night for Senior Caleb Rath to
remember. After he completed a 5 yard shuffle
pass to Ryan Murphy, he became the all-time
GSL leader for total offense - rushing and passing.
In his final game as a Saxon, he had 118 yards
passing and 94 yards rushing.
It was
an emotional game for all the seniors - their
parents - and the coaching staff!! Clarence
Hough, H.T. Higgins and Don Anderson all announced
that Friday nights game would be their final.
It seems like just yesterday we were all in Seattle
watching the Evergreen game. Thanks, players and
coaches, for a great game, season and career at
Ferris!!
Good
luck to you all.
