Ferris vs. Mead
A hook and ladder?
Are you kidding me? The Mead Panthers run a
trick play and beat the Saxons 34-28 in a High
School classic. In a game that was very entertaining
the Saxons came up on the short side of the score.
Ferris jumped out to a
commanding 21-6 lead in the second quarter and then
Mead got a score at the end of the first half to
make 21-14. In the third quarter the Saxons
didn't score - primarily because the defense was on
the field for most of the quarter.
The Saxons tied the
game in the 4th quarter at 28-28 after a botched
Panther fake punt. The Saxons kicked the ball
off trying to keep the game out of reach for the
Panthers. The Panthers then pulled off the
unthinkable. The QB DeFelice made a short pass
to Mattingly the WR, who then pitched the ball to
Skylar Jessen who was streaking down the far
sideline and ran 60 yards into the endzone.
Caleb Rath had 3
scores and Anthony Zachery had one. Mackenzie
Murphy and Scott Ward each had an interception
giving them both 3 picks for the season.
The Saxons move to 3-1
with North Central coming up next week.
