Jared Karstetter gets back in the
lineup for the Saxons. His impact was felt as he
caught 2 TD passes. |
Saxons Continue Dominance
The Saxons continued to show balance and
toughness on both sides of the ball in a convincing 35-7 win
over the EV Knights. QB Jeff Minnerly had a big
night with 4 passing TD's and 1 rushing - the Saxons started
out with a quick two minute scoring drive capped off with a
TD strike from Minnerly to RB McKenzie Murphy.
In the second quarter, WR Jared Karstetter (back from
injury) caught a pass from Minnerly and danced his way into
the end zone with some nifty moves for his first first TD of
the year. The Saxons led the Knights 21-0 at half.
The second half was more of a defensive
battle. Nathan Tonani had a big half
defensively. Unofficially, we think he had 3
sacks/tackles for losses - if not more. Andrew
Weigand and McKenzie Murphy each had interceptions.
The offense put together a long scoring drive at the
beginning of the fourth quarter and finished off the Knights
on a 3rd and 22, 70 yard bomb from Minnerly to Karstetter.
The Saxons did all this with the loss of Shawn Stockton,
who suffered an injury at the end the first half.
