Saxons Suffer Second Straight

The Ferris Saxons football team lost their second straight game on Friday night by a score of 42-20 to the LC Tigers.  In a battle of the south hill football teams, the Tigers capitalized on a Saxon 6 turnover night that included 3 fumbles and 3 interceptions.  The loss does not eliminate the Saxons from post season play.

The Saxons lost their game last week to Central Valley and were looking to "right the ship" this week against a sub-500 Lewis and Clark team.  The game couldn't have started out any better for Ferris as they intercepted the first Tiger pass turned it into six points.  Shortly after that, the Saxons recovered an LC fumbler and again, turned that into 6 points.  At this point it appeared the route might be on.  Unfortunately, from that point on, the Saxons were outscored 42-6....  The Saxons at times were there own worst enemy.  They turned the ball over at inopportune times and the Tigers were able to get points off of those turnovers.  One bright spot for the Saxons was the performance of Gage Orosco.  Gage had 150 yards rushing on only 17 carries.

OLD MAN MINN NOTES: Ouch....that game hurt, however, does NOT eliminate Ferris from the playoffs.  Check back for a breakdown of the playoff situation....the Saxons finish the regular season off with University (5-3) this week....UHI has losses to Mead, Mt Spokane and CV and significant wins over LC and Prep....It's Senior Night this week - be sure to get out and show your appreciation to the Ferris seniors and their parents...
